General Information

Like other members of the Caloptilia family, this species rests with its front raised.

 

The larvae initially feed in a mine, moving later to a folded or rolled leaf of the food plant.

Overwinters as Overwinters as an adult.

Foodplant(s): Alder (Alnus glutinosa)
Flying: Two generations, June and September-April (hibernates)
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Common

Recorded in 29 (10.7%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
