General Information

Pupates in leaf litter.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a pupa.
Both sexes come to light but in small numbers only.
Often disturbed during day

Forewing length: 8-10mm.
Foodplant(s): Holly (Ilex aquifolium), Ivy (Hedera helix), Gorse (Ulex europaeus), Broom (Cytisus scoparius), Heather (Calluna vulgaris), Rowan (Sorbus aucuparia), Traveller's-joy (Clematis vitalba), buddleas (Buddlea spp.), Rosaceae (Rosaceae spp.), ragworts (Senecio spp.), Sea Aster (Aster tripolium), Wild Marjoram (Origanum vulgare), herbaceous plants
Flying: Two/three generations, late March-May, July-August and September-October
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Common

Hedgerows, parks and gardens.
