General Information

This species is quite weakly marked in comparison with similar species.

 

The larvae produce a mine on the upper side of a leaf.


Wingspan: 8-9mm
Foodplant(s): hawthorns (Crataegus spp.), Apple (Malus domestica), Rowan (Sorbus aucuparia), Wild Service-tree (Sorbus torminalis), Wild Pear (Pyrus pyraster), Common Whitebeam (Sorbus aria), birches (Betula spp.)
Flying: Two generations, May-June and August
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Local
