General Information

Pupates in loose soil.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a pupa.
Both sexes readily come to light, sometimes in numbers.

Forewing length: 13-15mm.
Foodplant(s): Sweet-William (Dianthus barbatus), Bladder Campion (Silene vulgaris)
Flying: One/two generations, June-July and September
UK Presence: Resident, Possible Immigrant
National status: Common

Habitat

Gardens, grassland, fens and scrub.

Regional Information

Recorded in 51 (18.9%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
