General Information

Pupates in loose soil.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a larva.
Both sexes come to light, males more often than females.

Forewing length: 11-14mm.
Foodplant(s): Tufted Hair-grass (Deschampsia cespitosa)
Flying: One generation, late June-early August
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Common

Habitat

Grassland, woodland rides, marshes, open woodland, scrub and heathy areas.

Regional Information

Recorded in 84 (31.1%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.

Last recorded in July 2023
