General Information

Pupates burrowing into decaying wood.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a pupa.
Both sexes come to light.

Forewing length: 16-19mm.
Foodplant(s): birches (Betula spp.), Alder (Alnus glutinosa), Goat Willow (Salix caprea), oaks (Quercus spp.), elms (Ulmus spp.), broadleaved trees
Flying: One generation, May-June

Habitat

Broadleaved woodland, heathland, carr, fens, and scrub.

Regional Information

Recorded in 32 (11.9%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
