General Information

This is one of the larger members of the Larentiinae.

 

Pupates between spun leaves of the food plant.

Overwinters as Overwinters as an egg.
Both sexes come to light but in small numbers only.

Forewing length: 17-19mm.
Foodplant(s): Black Currant (Ribes nigrum), Red Currant (Ribes rubrum), Gooseberry (Ribes uva-crispa)
Flying: One generation, July-August
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Common

Habitat

Woodlands, gardens where foodplant grows.

Regional Information

Recorded in 22 (8.1%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
