General Information

This species is similar to the Rosy Rustic but is substantially larger and dull brown, never pinkish.

 

Pupates amongst the roots of the food plant.

Overwinters as Overwinters as an egg.
Both sexes come to light but in small numbers only.

Forewing length: 19-23mm.
Foodplant(s): Butterbur (Petasites hybridus)
Flying: One generation, August-early September
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Local

Habitat

Marshy places and riverbanks.

Regional Information

Recorded in 1 (0.4%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
