General Information

Unusually for members of this family, this species feeds on lichens.

 

Pupates in a cocoon in lichen.

Overwinters as Overwinters as a larva.
Both sexes readily come to light, sometimes in numbers.

Forewing length: 14-18mm.
Foodplant(s): lichen
Flying: One generation, June-mid August
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Local

Habitat

Dense scrub and woodland.

Regional Information

Recorded in 1 (0.4%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
