General Information

This is an extremely variable species. It is the largest of the UK Lobesia species and can be distinguished by its comparatively narrow forewing with a normally well-defined median fascia.


Wingspan: 11-16 mm.
Foodplant(s): Thrift (Armeria maritima), Common Bird's-foot-trefoil (Lotus corniculatus)
Flying: Two generations, June-July and September
National status: Local

Habitat

Coastal cliffs, along estuaries and saltings.

Regional Information

Recorded in 16 (5.9%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
