General Information

This is one of several very similar moths which can be difficult to distinguish.


Wingspan: 17-25 mm.
Foodplant(s): Devil's-bit Scabious (Succisa pratensis), Field Scabious (Knautia arvensis), Small Scabious (Scabiosa columbaria)
Flying: Two overlapping generations, May-October
National status: Common

Habitat

Grassland and scrub.

Regional Information

Recorded in 31 (11.5%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.

Last recorded in July 2022
