General Information

This is the most common of the oak-feeding Phyllonorycters.

 

The larvae produce a small blotch mine on the underside of a leaf.


Wingspan: 7-9mm
Foodplant(s): oaks (Quercus spp.)
Flying: Two generations, April-May and August-September
UK Presence: Resident
National status: Common

Recorded in 231 (85.6%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
