General Information

This is the only greyish Parornix with white tips of the apictal cilia, but genital dissection is usually required for a conclusive identification.

 

The larvae produce a Phyllonorycter-like mine and later go on to produce one or more successive leaf cones.

National status: Common

Habitat

Heaths and open woodland.

Regional Information

Recorded in 42 (15.6%) of the 270 2km squares of Huntingdonshire.
